On Saturday, September 9, we celebrated the 15th anniversary of our Foundation with a fun party on the square near our thrift shop. It was nice to see so many loyal friends and donors again. It was a moment to look back at the projects we have completed in recent years, but we would not be Cambodia-Dutch if we were not already making new plans.

Rita and her husband Wil left for Cambodia with Robert (board member and webmaster) and Ingrid at the beginning of November and have just returned. There they could experience how the Cambodian staff does great work. Phea and his right hand Thearith are responsible for the organization of the CDO, with great support from Chakrei, who as an accountant takes care of the financial side. They created a beautiful PowerPoint presentation about our Better Life Education project. Thearith also has information about it school visits of the students made transparent with graphs. The decline in the number of students during the harvest season became very apparent. Something that teachers can take into account in their planning and preparation.
It was a very pleasant experience to see that Thearith and Loern are developing, training and applying what they have learned with so much pleasure. They had again attended the API meeting in Phnom Penh. API is a partner organization of Wilde Ganzen with which CDO has been working for many years. They learn to set up projects there and also learn the intricacies of raising funds.
